State of Escape is an international design brand connecting the contemporary woman with her curiosity through an intuitively created collection of bags. It all began in Sydney, Australia, with co-founders Brigitte MacGowan and Desley Maidment. Their vision was to design an artistic original, an effortless companion pushed to the edge of timeless elegance; something superbly practical and beautifully handcrafted. From the outset and now 10 years on, the iconic Escape tote and every State of Escape creation is intended to afford longevity and versatility - a sustainable foundation from which they constantly evaluate and improve their commitment to people and the planet. Collections are carefully curated through a made-to-order model, reducing seasonal wastage, and discouraging over-consumption. As a female owned and operated company, they are committed to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion as integral aspects to success as a business and a brand.
