B Lab Global welcomes standards expert Janine Guillot to Board of Directors
The B Lab Global Board of Directors is pleased to announce Janine Guillot as its newest member, effective April 2023.
Guillot’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment for B Lab Global as it works to scale and mobilize the B Corp movement and its more than 6,000 Certified B Corporations, 10,000 benefit corporations, and 200,000 impact management tool users. Janine’s notable career in financial services and leadership at major standards-setters the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Value Reporting Foundation (VRF), and most recently the IFRS Foundation will be critical in B Lab’s work to develop new standards and tools to ensure all businesses are better — for workers, communities, and the environment.

Janine Guillot serves on the IFRS Foundation’s Integrated Reporting and Connectivity Council as well as on the boards of Equilibrium Capital, B Lab Global and the newly formed International Foundation for Valuing Impacts (IFVI).
She was most recently the IFRS Foundation’s Special Advisor to the Chair of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). She is a leader in the global effort to establish the ISSB and advance progress towards a globally accepted corporate reporting system in which sustainability accounting develops the commensurate level of maturity, credibility, and acceptance as financial accounting.
Prior, Janine was Chief Executive Officer of the SASB Foundation and the Value Reporting Foundation. She led the establishment and widespread acceptance of SASB Standards as the leading industry-specific sustainability disclosure standards for the global capital markets. She led the mergers of SASB and the International Integrated Reporting Council into the Value Reporting Foundation and the IFRS Foundation, major steps in simplifying the global sustainability disclosure landscape.
Janine has a distinguished career in financial services. Prior to joining SASB, she served as Chief Operating Investment Officer for the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), where her responsibilities included oversight of CalPERS ESG integration and corporate governance programs. Prior to CalPERS, Janine held senior leadership positions at Barclays Global Investors (BGI) and Bank of America, including serving as Chief Operating Officer of BGI’s European and Global Fixed Income businesses.
A graduate of Southern Methodist University (SMU), Janine began her career as a technical accountant and auditor with Ernst & Young. In recognition for her leadership at the intersection of sustainability, accounting and finance, Janine was selected as a 2020 and 2021 NACD Directorship 100 Honoree and named to the 2020 Business Insider's 100 People Transforming Business list.
