Gerdau is a Brazil-based steel corporation with more than 28,000 workers. Each year, Gerdau transforms millions of tons of scrap into new steel products, promoting sustainable development - in fact, 73% of the metal used in Gerdau's operations is scrap metal. This cuts their CO2 emissions to half the global steel industry average. Gerdau also contributes to the circular economy in other ways - in particular through investment into research and development so that by-products of their operations don't go to waste:
